Can antioxidants slow down the aging process?

Practically all the visible signs of aging we resist so much are caused by cell-damaging oxidants in the body.

Oxidants are released whenever something is burnt which is the reason why smoking can accelerate aging. However, the majority of oxidants inside us are a result of the process in which our bodies burn the food we eat to provide energy.

Fortunately, Antioxidants can essentially eliminate these harmful toxins, therefore preventing the cell damage that causes wrinkles, loss of vision and all the other unwanted effects of growing old.

The most powerful antioxidants are vitamin A, found in carrots and tomatoes, Vitamin C, found in oranges and broccoli, and finally vitamin E which can be found in nuts and fish.
