4. Cutting corners

Ideally you should cleanse you face twice a day - once in the morning and once at night. If you don't always have the time or patience to do this you should sacrifice the morning application. This is because your evening cleanse involves removing your make-up and all the grime you've picked up on your adventures during the day. If you do need to cut corners cleansing wipes will perform an adequate job. However, although they're infinitely better than nothing, they fall well short of the effectiveness of manual cleansing.

5. Beware over-cleansing

As unlikely as it may sound, cleansing can cause more harm to your skin than good. If you use too strong a cleanser you can adversely effect the balance of your skin. Your skin is designed to let favorable substances in, such as water and nutrients, but at the same time keep unwanted materials out, such as toxins and chemicals. A harsh cleanser can knock this balance out of synch and ultimately lead to a whole host of potential skin problems.
