The Botulium toxin, or botox as its more commonly known, works by preventing the release of certain chemicals to the nerve endings in the skin.

It is these chemicals which trigger the muscles in our face to flex and contract which stretch the skin and ultimately cause wrinkles. Botox therefore smoothes out old lines and stops new ones from forming.
