by Sophia Sandrelli Unless you have a huge collection of sandals, your feet probably aren't on show as much as your hands. As a result many of us tend to spend twice as much time and effort on our finger nails as we do on our poor old toenails. But there's no reason why our toes nails can't be as beautiful as their finger cousins. All you need is a little know how...- before you get the nail polish out, completely remove any existing polish - then wash your feet thoroughly, and yes me mean thoroughly - soak your feet in warm water for 10 minutes or so. Add a few pinches of your favourite bath salts - push back the cuticles with orange stick. You can use a cuticle moisturiser if they do not push back easily after soaking. You should never cut your cuticles as they help prevent bacteria from entering the skin. - clip your nails in a straight line, remembering not to cut too short
- insert toe separators or cotton wool and then apply a base coat and give it time to dry - choose your nail colour and apply two coats to each toe - use nail varnish remover to carefully correct any mistakes or overlaps - rub in a little oil to help moisturise your cuticles and encourage the varnish to set - when nails are dry to the touch you can walk around but don't put on socks, tights or closed toe shoes for at least 30 minutes. |
