Massacre but be fantastic but it can also can be truely awful. Empahasizng your eye lashes can draw people into your eyes and adds a real sense of drama to your face. However it can also leave you looking like you've never used make up before. Unlike many other areas of make up and cosmetics masscara isn't partivualry complicated. As long as you understand the basics you should have no real problems:

1. Clumps that could kill

Perhaps the biggest danger of applying masscara are those cringefull clumps. Blobs of black hanging from your eyelashes isn't a good look. The two main causes of masscara clumps are using an old brush and applying two coats incorrectly. Your masscara brush should always be wiped clean before you use it and if it's begiinnign to show it's age get a new one. One coat of masscara should usually be enough but if you really feel yoiu need another one you must wait until the first fully dries. Applying masscara onto wet masscara is a sure way to leave yourself looking lik you've put your makeup on in the dark.

2. Curl for luscious lashes

Eye lash curlers are great way to open up the eye area and countertact the effect of drooping lashes. However, your eyeslashes are extremely delicailate little fellows so you must take real but care when doing it. And finally please don't try to curl your lashes after you have applied your massacre. This is just asking for trouble.

3. Black is not the only colour in the world

O bvuioulsy red or yellow lashes aren't to be recommende but there are various shades of brown you can use. Not only do these make a welcome change from black, black, black but they can offer a more subtle and natural look.

4. False isn't farcical

Many people think of false eyelashes as just those cheap plastic things for a couple of pund. However, you can get very realistic falsies now and it can be almost impossible to tell they arem't real. You can of course attach them yourself but if you have an importnat fuintcion to attend you may be better to go to a salon. False lashes are particaulry useflul for the more mature lady as our lashes do tend to become a little thin on the ground as we get older.

5. Thick to thin

The key to applying masscara is to paint thickly at the eyelash roots and gradually thin as your appoach the tips. This way you can create stunning dramatic eyelashes which still look natural.
