The technique known as Vaser liposculpture uses advanced ultrasound technology to remove fat cells and therefore improve body shape. Performed under local anaesthetic, the technique is less invasive than standard liposuction. Vaser lipoplasty is better directed and controlled, increasing the likelihood of a positive outcome.
The Vaser procedure for a single area should take no longer than one hour. Because of the advanced techniques used, neither hospitalization or a general anaesthetic are required.
Vaser lipo can be used on most areas of the body to address lumps, bumps, saggy and flabby areas. Common treatment areas include arms, chin, neck, ankles, thighs, buttocks. and the stomach.
The cost of Vaser lipo in the UK can vary greatly depending on the clinic you use, and the area where you live. On average, prices are in the range of £2,000 to £3,000 per treatment area. Prices are significantly lower abroad where savings of over 50% are not uncommon.
The procedure is unlikely to be available on the NHS as a flabby stomach or bingo wings do not pose a serious health risk to the patient. Lipoplasty is carried out for purely cosmetic reasons, and of course there are alternatives to the procedure, such as dieting and exercise. Only in cases where the patient is suffering mental or phycological issues will the NHS confider treatment.
