| Invisalign is a system for straightening uneven teeth and rectifying gaps between teeth without the need for traditional metal-wire braces. Invisalign uses computerized technology to generate a series of clear, see-through aligners that are invisible when worn. The aligners fit your teeth exactly and over time slowly move your teeth into more attractive position.
The procedure
Invisalign aligners should be worn for 22 hours a day, only being removed to eat and brush your teeth. You change your aligners approximately every two weeks as your teeth are slowly moved into potion. Full treatment takes from 6 months to a year but can take up to 18 months in some cases.
Risks and side effects
There are no serious risks, side effects or complications of the Invisalign dental treatment.
Cost and prices
The price of Invisalign in a UK private dental clinic can range from £3000 to over £6000 depending on the level of work required. If you choose to have Invisalign abroad you can save at least £1000 but remember you do need to visit your Invisalign dentist several times after the initial procedure.
NHS, private or abroad
Invisalign is unlikely to be possible on the NHS because there is a cheaper, albeit less aesthetically attractive alternative. However, Invisalign is available in many private dental surgeries in both the UK and abroad.
