Polish nationals have been coming to the UK for years, helping to fill building and plumbing roles. But now an increasing number of UK nationals are going the other way to save money on plastic surgery. The cosmetic industry in Poland has developed greatly since the country's entry into the European Union in 2004, and now offers a full range of treatment carried out by well-trained surgeons in comfortable private clinics.
Costs and Prices
The cost of cosmetic surgery in Poland compares favourably with the prices found in the United Kingdom. You can save anything from 10-30% by choosing to have plastic surgery in Poland. For example, a face lift in the UK can cost anything from £5,000 to £10,000. In Poland, most private clinics charge no more than £4,000 for the same procedure, and sometimes much less.
Many of highest regarded Polish cosmetic clinics are found in Warsaw but reputable practices are now opening up across the country in areas such as Krakow, Gdansk and Szczecin. Damian Medical Centre and the IQ MEDICA clinic are two excellent private practices in Warsaw offering excellent treatment at great prices. Medi Clinique, in Szczecin, is another first rate Polish clinic offering high quality plastic surgery as well as a whole host of other treatments and medical care,
Surgeons in Poland
To become a plastic surgeon in Poland, six years of medical school must be followed by a two year internship. Students are then required to specialize in general surgery or children’s surgery for a further five years of training. And finally, the doctor must then study for at least another three years to acquire the skills necessary to practice as a cosmetic surgeon. Many polish plastic surgeons also train in the UK so standards, on the whole, are very high.
